Kvntvle is a poet and multidisciplinary artist whose inner musings often take on a life of their own. Comfortable navigating liminal space, her work reflects the in-between dreamscape and waking life, between twinkling skies and held breath, between what was and what might have been.
Inspired by the stars and family stories, she approaches writing with a sense of intimacy and the long-held knowing that what cannot be spoken is meant to find its home on the page. She is guided by the belief that what is most personal is also a collective unifier, and that vulnerability is an empowering force that binds us to one another.
A derivative of the Mvskoke word ekvnv, which means Earth, Kvntvle translates to Earth ready for planting. Kvntvle is a family name that went out of use around the time of the Dawe’s Rolls.
